Your deposit and payments

1. The 50% deposit reserves your date, and I turn away other clients for it. If it isn't paid by the date on your booking page, the date is released and nothing is owed.
2. The balance is due on the event day, before the gallery download is unlocked.
3. Events outside CDO proper carry a travel fee, quoted and agreed before you pay the deposit.

If you need to change the date or time

4. Moving your date: tell me at least 7 days before. Your first move is free. Your deposit and price carry over to any date within 6 months of the original, if I'm free. Each later move costs ₱500.
5. Less than 7 days' notice counts as a cancellation, unless the reason is one listed under "Things beyond anyone's control".
6. Changing only the start time on the same day: tell me at least 48 hours before. If I can make the new time, there's no charge. If I can't, it's treated as moving the date.
7. Cancelling: the deposit is not refunded. If you cancel 30 days or more before the event, it becomes a credit for any Daylight booking within 12 months. Anything you paid beyond the deposit is refunded in full.
8. If I arrive and the event doesn't happen, and I haven't heard from you within 1 hour of the start time, the booking counts as cancelled. The deposit is kept and the balance is not charged.

Things beyond anyone's control

9. If typhoon signal no. 2 or higher, a class or work suspension or government order, a venue closure, or a serious illness or death in either of our immediate families stops the event, either of us can move the date at no charge. Tell the other as soon as you know. The deposit carries over to a new date within 12 months. If we can't find a date that works, the deposit is refunded in full.
10. Outdoor sessions: we decide together by 3 hours before the start whether rain moves it. A rain move is free and doesn't count as your free move. Indoor events go ahead as booked.

If I need to change or cancel

11. I tell you on Messenger as soon as I know, and at least 7 days before unless it's an emergency. You choose: a new date at the same price, a full refund of everything you paid (sent within 3 days), or a trusted substitute photographer, only if you approve them, at the same price.
12. If I cancel, my responsibility is limited to refunding what you paid. It doesn't cover other event costs.

How changes are made

13. Changes count only when made in writing, on Messenger or by email. The time the message is sent is the time of notice.
14. Refunds are sent by GCash to the number you paid from.

On the day

15. Coverage runs from the agreed start time, even if the event starts late. Extra time is ₱700 for each extra hour or part of an hour, agreed and paid on the day, if I'm available.
16. Game Day is billed per game. Each game is covered for up to 2 hours from the start time you gave, and breaks between games are free. Extra time (₱700 per extra hour or part of an hour) applies only when a single game runs past 2 hours.
17. Please tell me if another photographer or videographer is booked. Daylight is not responsible for moments blocked by guests' phones, other photographers or venue rules.

Your photos

18. Photos are delivered within 10 days after the event (usually 7), in a private gallery that stays online for 90 days. Please download your photos within that time. You receive edited JPEG photos chosen by Daylight. Unedited and RAW files are not included.
19. Every photo is recorded to two memory cards at once and kept in an archive for 1 year after delivery, as a courtesy. If photos are lost or damaged despite this, Daylight's total responsibility is limited to the amount you paid.
20. You may use the photos for personal and social media sharing. Please credit @daylightbyjames when posting.
21. Leagues, churches and companies may use the photos in their own unpaid posts and announcements. Paid ads or sponsor materials need written permission.
22. I share photos from your event on the Daylight page and website only if you tick the sharing box on your booking page. Photos already posted before this booking system stay up. Any photo of you or your child comes down within 24 hours of your request.
